Mescolanzas

The basic dance unit in a Mescolanza is facing lines of four dancers. 
These lines are arranged back-to-back with each other in a long column down the hall. 

When a couple is facing out they should Partner Trade and wait for next group.
It is also possible to do a double progression in many of the dances by having
 those in the center Pass Thru twice while the outsides trade.

DUMBARTON DRUMS
Author: Traditional
Formation: Mescolanza – Lines of 4 facing lines of 4, in columns.
Music: Lloyd Shaw 172 or any nicely phrased 64-count music.  Could use music suitable for the event or season.

A1  (8) With the music Forward and Back;
      (8) Right Couple in front Sashay over;
          (Right hand couple in each line steps forward and sashays [side-steps] to the left 
           while the left-hand couple sashays to the right.)
A2  (8) With the music Forward and Back;
      (8) Right Couple in front Sashay back;

B1  (8) With the opposites each 4 Right-Hand Star;
      (8) Same four Left-Hand Star;
B2  (8) Back to lines then Forward and Back;
      (8) Arch to the Head, Dive to the foot;
          (Those facing up make an arch with their joined hands, moving over those facing down who
           Dive under those arches to face a new line of four.)
